Not so long ago Chablis, Scooter and Esprit looked down from heaven to check on Kelly. This was one of their most important jobs and they had been doing it everyday since they were with Kelly on earth. Kelly was most important to them and they were very upset that she was sad. They knew they had to do something.

Chablis, who knew Kelly the longest, said, "We need to ask God to send help to Kelly, quickly."

Scooter said, "I think we should ask God to send her an angel."

"Not just any angel," said Esprit. "We need to ask God to send Kelly a Samoyed Angel."

And so they did, God agreed and immediately sent the perfect angel for Kelly. Just like that, Juneau was on her way to meet Kelly.

It is important to stop the story for a moment to recognize and to fully appreciate that this was truly a "match made in heaven."

When Kelly and Juneau first met, Kelly was amazed that Juneau was so instantly happy to see her. It seemed like Juneau was actually expecting her. Juneau knew, of course, why she was there and Kelly would soon understand that Juneau really was "heaven sent."

Kelly and Juneau quickly became inseparable and totally devoted to each other. Juneau became Kelly's special daughter, best friend and trusted confidant. They did everything together and went everywhere together. Kelly learned to be a great Mom and Juneau knew her job was to be there for Kelly in every way possible, except for tear licking. Juneau's job was to bring Kelly happiness, not to condone sadness, and not to lick her tears.

Juneau's happiness was totally invested in Kelly's happiness. She understood that she brought joy to Kelly, but her mission was to help Kelly find a husband and a family, so Kelly would have a truly happy life. This was no easy task, but "Samoyed Angels" never give up and they work in mysterious ways. Finally, they found Anthony and a family. Kelly was very attracted to Anthony but Juneau sealed the deal. She gazed at Kelly with her knowing big brown eye, let out a long Woo, and said, "Go for it, Mom."

Anthony felt Kelly was special but he quickly and wisely recognized that there was something of the greatest importance about Juneau, and Kelly's relationship with her. He understood they were a package deal.

When Kelly and Anthony married, Juneau knew her job on earth was almost done. Kelly was married, she had a husband and a family, and most importantly she was happy. There was just one more thing that Kelly needed: a baby girl of her own.

When McKee was born it was a very special day. Everyone was very happy, but most of all Juneau and Kelly. Juneau had finally accomplished her mission and purpose for Kelly. She had done what Chablis, Scooter and Esprit wanted for Kelly, and what God sent her to do.

Juneau's mission on earth has also been valuable and rewarding far beyond what she has done for Kelly. Juneau is directly responsible for Toby, KC and Mayo becoming important parts of our lives. Of course, she did show Breeze how to counter-surf but she redeemed herself by teaching Toby how to become a true heart-dog. Without Juneau, Lacey would never have KC in her young life, and Mayo would have never found a special place in our hearts. Because of Juneau many dogs have been rescued and nursed back to good health. It is impossible to know how many hearts have been touched in a special way because of Juneau. Good girl Juneau, job well done!

Many say that Kelly rescued Juneau, but in reality Juneau is a rescue dog, not a rescued dog. She is the one who rescued Kelly during a very difficult period in her life.

Juneau's remaining task is to let Kelly know that she will never leave her because she is Kelly's "angel" forever. God sent Juneau to be with Kelly for as long as Kelly needs her. When her job on earth is done, she will go back to heaven to always be there for Kelly and where she will watch over Kelly and McKee forever and ever.
