Manny
Manny was a young stray Samoyed in a shelter in Texas; he was only about 1 year old. When Dallas Samoyed Rescue (DSR) picked him up, in the car they noticed that his neck was wet and red and that he smelled of decay. The shelter hadn't said there was anything wrong with him but DSR took him right to their vet to see what was wrong with him. The vet found that he had several puncture wounds in his neck and needed treatment immediately! He had to have several stitches and then had a long recovery time where his neck had to be kept clean and had to have the dressing changed and had to be kept quiet so he could heal.
After contacting the shelter, they told DSR that Manny had been attacked by several dogs at the shelter. He had been left with those injuries. Luckily DSR got him and got him treated. And luckily, Manny was not afraid of other dogs and fit right in at his foster home, making friends with the other Samoyeds there!
Manny has since been adopted by a couple who really enjoy him. They take him often to the dog park where he loves to play with the other dogs. He also likes to play with their daughter's dog, who comes over often.
