Princess Introduces Herself
Dear donors,
Just look at me! After 7 years of suffering, medically, emotionally and physically, I now know how wonderful life can be. And, thanks to all who donated to killing those awful heartworms, I am able to walk, play, eat, and I just started barking - so you see, I'm a real Sammy now.
I had a little setback; I started coughing up blood, so back to Dr. Mark's I went, and he again "fixed" me. My rescue mom, Elaine, has not been over to visit me yet because she does not want me to become too excited but she thinks about me every day and calls my foster mom, Nancy, to see how I am doing. In fact, my 2 moms were talking on the phone, I was thirsty and my foster sister, Frost, had emptied the water bowl, so I just picked up the empty bowl and took it to my foster mom to fill. Aren't I smart!
We have had storms in Columbus, Ohio, and I do NOT like storms. When it was thundering, I jumped on the sofa and was comforted by my foster dad, Jon. As you all know, I was tied in a field for all of my life, (7 years), and that is probably why I become so frightened when I hear thunder. I am so glad that I will NEVER be left outside again -- my rescue mom promised me and she always keeps her promises.
I will be going back to Dr. Mark's the 2nd week of July for my final heartworm treatment and will have to be kept quite for another month. Then I will be able to do whatever I want to do with no limitations on activity. And finally, when I am well enough, I will be spayed.
Licks and barks from

I am sending you another photo. My foster sister is on the left and I am on the right, (I have a red I.D. tag on). My rescue mom, Elaine, cried when she saw my photo because she is so happy to see me smile. I know I will ALWAYS be smiling because that's what Sammys do when they are happy... and I just can't tell you enough, how happy I am.
